3 At-Home Recipes for Treating Dark Spots On Your Skin

For many individuals, dark spots serve as a source of embarrassment. Some feel that the only way that they can successfully treat dark spots is by getting extremely expensive treatments. While many natural treatments at beauty centres (see Shakura) do work, there is also an endless stream of home remedies that you can do yourself at home to treat dark spots. Today, for the sake of brevity, we are just going to focus on three. The good thing about these treatments is that they are safe, and they will not cost you an arm and a leg.

The following is only a few of the many home remedies for dealing with dark spots on the skin. An individual can find more home remedies by doing research and read some success stories of individuals who have been able to effectively remove dark spots from their skin.

Number One: Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is effective at fighting off dark spots because it is rich in vitamin C. When applied directly to the face, lemon juice will lighten dark spots in an effective manner. Cut a lemon in half, and squeeze the juice out of it. Then take a cotton ball, dip the cotton ball into the lemon juice, and put it on the areas where there are dark spots. Sit for approximately 10 minutes, and allow the lemon juice to dry. Then wash it off with warm water. This process should be repeated for two weeks.

Number Two: Buttermilk

Buttermilk is another effective home remedy for treating dark spots. In the same way that lemon juice has the power to fade blemishes, buttermilk can do the same. The lactic acid in milk has the ability to reduce skin pigmentation. The difference is that buttermilk will not negatively affect sensitive skin.

To apply buttermilk, take lemon juice, fresh tomato juice, and mix it with the buttermilk at 4:2 ratio. Apply this mixture to the dark spots, and leave it there for approximately 15 minutes, and then wash it off with lukewarm water. If buttermilk is not available, the same mixture can be made with 2 percent milk. The only difference is that it should only be left on the skin for 10 minutes. This process should be repeated two times a day for up to five weeks.

Number Three: Oats

Oatmeal and oatmeal powder are an effective way to remove dead skin. When dead skin is removed, the dark spots are removed with it. Use a cup of rolled oats and grind them thoroughly. Add 3 to 4 teaspoons of lemon juice, and mix this until it becomes a fine paste. Use this mixture as a scrub for your skin, and then leave it to dry for half an hour. Remove the oat mask with warm water. This process should be repeated twice a week.

Types of Makeup Brush Hairs and The Differences

Makeup – the quintessential part of life for every woman no matter which part of the world they come from. And what does one need to apply makeup? Of course, the right makeup brushes.

Makeup brushes come in different shapes, sizes and variants and one must ask the question, whether the choice you make is right for you. Know that a good quality make up brush can create the perfect look that you’re searching for; especially when using a cheap applicator, or one that doesn’t mesh well with your skin can not only create an unwanted appearance, but might also cause rashes if you have a sensitive skin.

Most commonly, makeup brush bristles are classified as natural or synthetic variants. Synthetic bristles are mad-made from polyester or nylon fibers and are less expensive than natural ones. They are often baked and dyed to make them softer and give them more absorbent properties, and these fibers can be of different shapes; tipped, tapered, etched or abraded, to help increase their color transferring capabilities. The biggest advantage of synthetic makeup brushes is that they are prone to lesser amounts of damage from solvents and makeup, are easier to clean and are usually able to offer better and softer layering of powdered blush, cream and concealer. They’re also great for those who are allergic to animal fur.

Natural fibers like squirrel fur, horse or pony hair, goat, badger and kolinsky hair are widely used to make makeup brushes. They are a good choice to use when needed to give a varying layer of shades or color to one’s skin; very soft with squirrel hair, or firm with badger hair.

Makeup Brush Guide

Goat hair is most commonly used, especially by makeup artists because of its softness and ability to spread powdered color smoothly and evenly across your skin, not to mention that it can also bring a natural luster to your skin. Perfect for blending, buffing and applying sheen, pony hair also falls into the category, much like goat hair, though much finer than goat hair. These kinds of bristles are perfect for brushes used to highlight cheekbones, bronzing or contouring.

Squirrel hair is also very soft and fine and brushes made with them are usually full in the middle and tapered at the tip. The softest squirrel hair comes from the Russian blue or gray squirrel and is usually on the expensive side. Used for blending and contouring as well, these brushes are great for creating shadows and adding details to creases, thereby being the best for adding details to one’s eyes.

Kolinsky hair offers amazing porosity and is wonderful to use for bringing color gradients into play. It is considered as one that offers a true, firm and precise color layer, and the brush can maintain its original shape for years.

Coarser than the rest and stiffer too, badger hair brushes are able to define and shape eyebrows, fill in gaps and are therefore the best to use for eyebrow pencil applications and firm brow feathering.

Make up brushes are a worthy investment, and are also the tool to offer perfect makeup, if only you’re wise and purchase the variety that’s right for the kind of makeup you’re looking for.

Understanding and Avoiding Habits That Cause Skin Aging

Every person’s skin undergoes a natural aging process that follows the hormonal and nutritional patterns of the body. While aging is natural, there is no reason for any person to have to suffer from premature aging. The skin is resilient and does not have to resemble its age. With modern medicine and proper shelter available to most people, there is no reason not to look at least a little younger than the human biological clock would have it.

Many people think premature aging has to do with exposure to chemicals or an urban environment. The truth is that skin aging is as old as the human race, and people in postindustrial times experienced early skin aging quite frequently. Part of this had to do with exposure to sunlight. Europeans have little melanin, which is the pigment in skin that protects it from ultraviolet radiation. Anyone who works outside risk premature aging.

To that end, it is critical to wear protection such as a hat and sunscreen. Some jobs are still performed in the sunshine, and the good news is that the skin is benefited by some solar radiation. The key is to limit intense exposure that could damage skin cells and result in excessive repairing that is associated with fatigued skin. Many cultures traditionally favored wide brimmed hats, and there is no reason not to adopt their wisdom.

Aging skin sun exposure

An urban environment can cause skin aging through stress and exposure to pollutants. It is pad for the body to ingest poisons of any type, because it strains the liver and ties down the excretory system from eliminating the body’s own natural waste. Any poison can cause premature aging by increasing blood toxicity and forcing cells to sit in their own excretions. For this reason, anything that bogs down the liver can cause skin degradation, including illegal drugs and even alcohol. Smoking is harmful because it introduces hundreds of poisons with every puff.

The good news is that premature aging can be halted and even reversed. The important first step is to remove the issues that cause poor skin health. This could mean better outdoor protection, wearing a filter mask during heavy fog, and giving up drugs and bad food. A good diet introduces more healing nutrients than all the external vitamin creams in the world.

For heavy damage that cannot be repaired by changing personal habits, it is worth trying to get advice from trusted medical aesthetic practitioners. This means using several numbing agents for cosmetic reasons, as it forces small groups of muscles in the face to relax. While aging occurs all over the body, the majority of people wish to spare their face from aging. It is what humans spend the most time looking at when interacting.

Botox and other anesthetics reduce the appearance of wrinkling because muscles do not twitch according to every muscle. Small muscles in the skin are also relaxed, causing an enormous relief of apparent tension. Anesthetics improve the cosmetic appearance of skin, but also give time for wrinkles to face. If creases are not reinforced, they gradually start to diminish.

How to Treat Baby Eczema

Approximately one out of every ten infants during their first months of life develop patches of irritated skin known as baby eczema. Parents who notice patches of skin that have some degree of redness, as well as are dry and rough to the touch and make baby feel itchy should take some simple yet effective steps to treat this common medical condition in infants.

This type of skin irritation most often develops in a baby’s arm and leg joints as well as on their cheeks. Although there is no one definitive reason as to why eczema develops on infants, it is thought to be a reaction of the child’s immune system to any variety of factors, including stress, sweat, heat, and the use of soaps, detergents and certain ingredients in lotions and creams used in baby’s daily routine. A child whose mother or father is susceptible to eczema is also likely to develop it.

It’s first of all very helpful to take steps to prevent baby’s skin from becoming dry by using a quality moisturizing agent and maintaining proper humidity levels in the home’s environment. Use soaps and cleansers that are hypo-allergenic. For washing baby’s clothing, avoid detergents using perfumes and opt for washing baby’s outfits in mild, unscented detergents. Choose clothing that is smooth and soft like cotton rather than scratchy fabrics like wool or fabrics that don’t breathe such as polyester, provide fresh clothing daily and choose clothes that fit loosely over irritated skin. Discuss dietary choices with your pediatrician if the eczema does not clear up on its own as certain food choices tend to irritate and prolong episodes of eczema.

There are several effective treatments for baby eczema. Bathing your infant in lukewarm water can help to alleviate itching, followed by the application of a fragrance-free moisturizer to help with dry skin. Keep baths short, limited to no more than 10 minutes. Adding oatmeal to the bath water often eases baby’s itchy feeling. There are safe over the counter creams and lotions containing steroids available at your local pharmacy that can be applied topically as directed onto the eczema for faster healing. Any topical creams should be applied while the skin is still moist.

If your baby’s eczema doesn’t respond to home treatment methods, or blisters develop under the skin, don’t hesitate to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss obtaining stronger prescription medication or antibiotics to fight off any infection.
